Daichinoie is a children’s home under the care of the Shiseigakusha Tachikawa Social Welfare Group, which has a long history of over 100 years. For the past few years, Playground of Hope has been working to find a sponsor to support these children by cleaning up and improving their grounds near the Tama River. We were lucky to have amazing team members from Hilton Tokyo sponsor a BBQ pit, artificial grass, rock-climbing wall and benches for the home.
While it was a cold, rainy day and we still have some work to finish up, the children at Daichinoie had a wonderful time working together with the volunteers. And we successfully held a hamburger and hotdog event for over 100 children and staff at the home. We are looking forward to returning to the home again soon!
