The Mashikimachi daycare building was destroyed in the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake. The daycare reopened in a prefabricated building near the Mashikimachi Sogo Kaikukan and will be located there for the next 1.5 years. Local official and staff requested that we help develop the schools play area. They needed a fence around the school building as well as some play equipment for the school yard.
On September 10th, PoH staff from Tokyo flew down to Kumamoto and teamed up with local volunteers to construct a 165m wooden fence around the school yard. Daycare staff and administrators also helped built the fence. Another great PoH community based build!
