When the tsunami of the Great East Japan Earthquake hit, Komagamine Elementary School was located near the coast, but was protected by the Shinchi Power Plant, so it was not seriously affected. However, 220 precious lives were lost in Shinchi Town.
After the earthquake, many residents evacuated from other areas, and the number of students at the elementary school increased. According to an announcement from the town, children are gaining weight due to mental and physical stress and less time playing outside.
With the cooperation of our sponsors, we were able to complete the installation of the playground equipment at Komagamine Elementary School in one day, despite the large size of the equipment. The opening ceremony was a wonderful one, and the following are the words we received from student representatives at the time.

“Thank you everyone for giving us the wonderful new play equipment for us at Komagamine Elementary School.While watching the assembly work that started a few days ago, we children are working hard to complete the new play equipment. I was really looking forward

play equipment we received this time was used to help everyone get along and safely. I hope you enjoy using it.
