Commonly, although not academically,
we consider all of the following to be play:
STRUCTURED PLAY
STRUCTURED PLAY
Whenever a child is following directions to assemble a toy or participating in a sports club, he is engaged in structured play.
DIGITAL PLAY
DIGITAL PLAY
In this type of play, children use digital devices such as video game consoles or cellphones. Besides the usual games, also things such as texting with friends belong here.
FREE PLAY
FREE PLAY
Simply said, a kid doing what, when, and where he wants - without adults' intervention and without any academic agenda.
While structured and digital play are doing well,
free play is on decline due to:

Why We Support Free Play
While structured and digital play are getting a lot of attention thanks to marketing efforts of sports goods and video game makers, that is not the case with free play.
We strive to fix the imbalance between the amount of time spent on structured and digital play, and free play because we believe that free play has irreplaceable benefits on children’s development.
Especially so in places like disaster zones and children’s homes.
